Where Woodbury's generosity goes.
Our giving concentrates where local need is greatest and where community dollars go furthest.
Supporting the programs and partners that keep Woodbury healthy in body and mind.
Backing the people and initiatives that keep our neighborhoods safe.
Investing in the next generation through leadership, learning, and opportunity.
Rapid, local help for residents facing hardship, hunger, and hard seasons.
From a park piano to a community foundation.
What began as neighbors chipping in for one good idea became a permanent home for Woodbury's generosity.
Woodbury, then & now (photo coming soon)
- 2003
It starts with a piano
Seven neighbors come together as “Friends of Woodbury” to raise money for a piano in Central Park. A community habit of generosity is born.
- 2005-06
A foundation takes shape
The group formally incorporates and earns 501(c)(3) public charity status, with early leadership from Dick Stafford.
- 2008
First executive director
The foundation hires its first executive director, Alisa Rabin Bell, and begins building lasting community programs.
- Today
More than two decades on
WCF now manages 18 funds, runs six community programs, and has distributed more than $185,000 in a single recent year, all guided by a volunteer board.
A 100% volunteer board of your neighbors.
No paid executives at the top. Just Woodbury residents who give their time so more of every dollar reaches the cause. The board is supported by six committees that guide grants, finance, development, marketing, and governance.
Full board roster and bios are available on our Trust & Transparency page.

Woodbury's best work happens together.
Give to the causes you love, or lend your time. Either way, you're strengthening the place we all call home.
